Ahhhh. Wish I could take art history with you as my teacher! I’d love it even more. What an adventure you’re having. Thanks for taking us along. I’m deep into Shuggie Bain! ❤️❤️❤️

I started Shuggie Bain and it was too painful. I grew up in similar circumstances when I was little but the whole atmosphere was waaay different - in a good way. This was the late fifties - and of course I was a wee wain. I’ll get back to the book. One day. Because it is so good.

I enjoy these posts so much Belle. So interesting what you said about "do what you love". Sometimes travelers push themselves to the brink just to be able to say they saw something. I also loved the part about "the outfit" and gray hair and aging. Well Ok I loved reading all of it!

This series is so great, it makes me hunger for the movie length version. Also, when you are teaching art history to the young uns, do you ever let middle age men audit the class?

I'm just catching up on all your posts and I keep thinking, "Now, THIS is my favorite one! No, this one!" But I'm going to say it, this one spoke to my heart and it felt like you were right here next to me regaling me with stories as I snickered and we ate salad and talked about our precious gray hairs and how they should be worshipped. Why is no one worshipping our grays? I bet Giotto admired the silver strands. Now to go render some belladonna for scientific purposes.
